I've have a Canon Sureshot AF camera, sometimes referred to as Owl. I long ago lost the User Manual. Can anyone explain the function of the two small buttons on the front face of the camera, and the small button on the top near the shutter button.
Canon offers no online support documentation for film cameras.
Thanks,
Jerry

Re: Button function on a Canon Sureshot
Tue, December 11, 2007 - 8:32 PMNeed to see a picture of the top of the camera to figure it out. I tried a google search, but it didn't help.
Are there any icons next to the buttons? Most likely one of them controls the flash, and possibly the other maybe the ASA.

Re: Button function on a Canon Sureshot
Thu, December 13, 2007 - 3:54 PMI found a strong document magnifier at a library and looked at the icons.
One button on the front face has a lightening bolt next to it. The button below it has the lightening bolt with the circle and slash over it. I would conclude that these are simply "ON" and "OFF" for the flash.
On the top near the shutter button is another small button. There is a tiny circle icon. The circle has a gap from about the 10 o'clock position to the twelve o'clock position where a tiny arrow points counter clockwise . Extending out from the center point of the circle to the edge point of the circle at the gap location is a small triangular pointer. Can I assume this to be a shutter delay feature?
Next to that is a recessed button that needs to be pushed with a pen tip or paper clip. It has what looks like an end on view of a film roll with a bit of film pulled out. Two small arrows point back towards the film roll. Is this to do a rewind of the film before the entire roll is exposed?
Is my memory serving me right? -
